Gardens with a Twist
A huge THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone who checked out my Blog! I really appreciate you taking the time to do so, and I shall work hard at making it a better and more interesting Blog.
A couple of days ago, I went to the Gardens by the Bay, a nature park located in southern Singapore at Marina Bay. It comprises several attractions like the Heritage Gardens, Supertree Grove and The World of Plants. I headed for the Flower Dome, which houses a permanent display of Mediterranean flora.
The Flower Dome Conservatory replicates the cool dry conditions of the Mediterranean regions like Spain and Italy, and also South Africa and California. It smells absolutely lovely in there, and the cool environment is a respite from the heat outside.
Lastly, a mention about the Supertrees. They're vertical gardens ranging from 25-50 meters tall. There are eighteen of them, all home to enclaves of unique and exotic ferns, orchids, bromeliads and vines. There's even a Supertree-top Bistro where you can chill and enjoy the surrounding views. I didn't have time to check it out, which is fine, as I plan to visit the Gardens again..and again. My photographs really don't do it justice, so do check it out when you're in town. It'll take your breath away...
